The new Tool Album
by wanderlustguy ini bought it a couple of days ago when it came out...it's amazing how much their music has developed since the last album.. since my liberation from the organization, i've found their lyrics and music to inspire me, it always did, but i never really knew why.
now the lyrics strike the same chord...only harder.. here's a sample.... .
vicarious - tool.

I purchased 10,000 days on Tuesday and have been listening to it non stop since. I really enjoy Vicarious, Jambi, The Pot, and Rosetta Stoned thus far. I need a little time to absorb the entire album. So far im pleased though.
Im a huge Tool fan. I've seen them live three times.

At what age did you start to notice that you were getting/looking "Old"?
by JH in.
we all get older every day, that's not my question, but at what age did you notice that you weren't able to do as much as when you were younger, or at what age did you start to see a different person in the mirror..and it didn't please you.

Funny story.
I was driving in a residential neighborhood the other day while working. Driving a company van four boys (I'm guessing between the ages of 9 to 12 maybe) were walking in the street. Two crossed in front of me without a bother and the other two started to cross but realized I was approacing and decided not to continue. As I got closer they put their hands up and waved. Boy one said "Sorry!" and boy two said "Sorry old dude!"
So it's official, I'm an old dude now!

The end of The Watchtower!
by Darth Yhwh ini was thinking about the wtbs this weekend as i mowed my lawn.
they have taken so much from my family in the form of money and most importantly time, that i have developed a hatred for them.. as i cut the grass, burning gasoline and contaminating the air, i realized that the watchtower is loosing ground.
fortunatly for my family my mother married a worldly man.

My oldest son (6 yrs) was started singing a Christmas song at the dinner table the other day. I jokingly said that there would be no more singing Christmas songs, celebrating holidays or birthdays any more. When he asked why and I told him that I wasnt allowed to do those things as a child being raised as a Jehovah's Witness. He was pretty shocked to say the least. I then went on to tell him that his grandmother is still a Jehovah's Witness and that's why she doesnt celebrate holidays or come to his birthday party. I dont think that he ever realized that she never came before but he's getting to the age where it's important to him now. He started crying and said that he wanted his grandmother to come to his party. After consoling him for some time he stopped sobbing and said "I wish Jehovah would go away!" My wife and I started laughing. Too funny.

What kind of things did you do when going door to door to add time?
by whyizit ini was intrigued by an earlier post.
the point was made that the jws are going door-to-door to meet a quota and are not really concerned about the people they are witnessing to, but only in saving their own butts.
has anyone ever had a non-jw friend and asked them if they could talk about jehovah for a while to them, in order to fill the time they need?

whyizit, this is a very well worded post. I too have often been on the short end of a school fundraiser that I had worked my tail off only to fall short.
As far as stalling tacticts in the field ministry? I would pretend to knock and ring door bells. That's about it. When I became old enoug to relize that it was a big scam, I stopped going.
